A legendary piece of sneaker history finally in hand
I’ve spent two decades staring at photos of the original 72-pair flight-jacket release. Having this 2025 retro with the proper olive green nubuck and the detachable orange velcro tongue patch is a surreal feeling. Jordan Brand did this masterpiece absolute justice.

Immaculate quality control for a monumental reissue
The texture of the deep green nubuck is incredibly rich—it has that beautiful color shifting when you rub your finger across it. Updating the heel branding to the proper "Nike Air" text for the wide public release was a brilliant touch that sets it apart from the old 2005 promo pairs. It fits completely true to size and looks unbelievable with vintage black cargos.

The definition of a boutique classic, just be mindful of the velcro
There is no collaboration more sacred in sneaker culture than Undefeated's take on the AJ4. The color blocking is just as aggressive and militarily sophisticated as it was twenty years ago. The matte finish on the black supportive TPU wings balances the bright clementine pops on the interior lining and lace-bed trim perfectly. Underfoot, the polyurethane midsole provides fantastic structural support for all-day wear.

My only minor operational warning is regarding the removable velcro tongue patches. While it is awesome that they included both the classic Jumpman and the Undefeated Five-Strike logos to swap out, the velcro base stitched to the tongue is quite aggressive. If you are rushing to pull the patches off, you can easily fray the surrounding black canvas trim if you aren't careful. Use a gentle hand when customizing the look.

A phenomenal SNKRS app success
I managed to hit on the exclusive access draw last August. The orange secondary laces included in the box completely transform the shoe into an absolute neck-breaker. The stitching through the sail midsole is flawlessly clean.

Unbelievable street presence, but prepare for a snug fit
Visually, this shoe is a work of art—the contrast of the sail section on the heel midsole breaks up the dark olive tones perfectly. Just keep in mind that because the nubuck leather used on this specific SP run is significantly thicker than standard retro variations, the toe box feels quite tight and stiff initially. It takes a solid week of casual street walking to break them in before they flex naturally.
