I still remember the posters and newsletters from the original Air Jordan Flight Club when I was a kid, so this drop was a must-have. Replacing the stark white leather with that soft sail color gives it an amazing vintage vibe right out of the box.

Visually, these have a very similar clean, everyday color blocking to the Military Blacks, but the subtle wave stitching on the suede forefoot overlays adds incredible texture. The pop of University Red on the tongue logo and the "Nike Air" heel text gives it just the right amount of classic Bulls DNA. They fit true to size and the leather quality feels very premium.

Jordan Brand really nailed the historical storytelling with this release—even the custom graphic printing across the insoles looks like the vintage member letters Michael Jordan used to send out. The contrast between the matte black structural TPU wings and the sail midfoot netting looks incredibly cohesive in person.

Functionally, if you plan on wearing these heavily, just keep in mind that the premium leather and supportive suede layers make the shoe feel a bit more rigid around the toe box than standard tumbled leather drops. It took me about three full afternoon walks before the upper softened up and flexed naturally with my foot stride. Just be warned that like most retro 4s, the midfoot is sculpted quite narrow, so wide-footers should definitely consider going up a half size to avoid pinky toe pinch.

I usually stick strictly to original 1989 colorways, but the backstory and material selection on the 'Flight Club' iteration completely won me over.
