Beautiful retro style, but care for the suede
The light blue against the dark gum sole is a brilliant combo. I find the Spezial footbed has a bit more structure and arch support than a flat Samba, making them much easier to wear all day. Just make sure to use a protective spray before going out, as the light suede can catch dirt easily.

A phenomenal everyday trainer that completely beats the hype
I wanted a low-profile sneaker that wasn't the standard white or black leather, and this light blue Spezial is exactly what I was looking for. The quality of the nubuck suede is top-tier—it's incredibly soft and didn't require any agonizing break-in period at all.

The gold foil detailing on the side looks very premium, and the textured tongue stays perfectly in place without sliding around. They look incredibly sharp when dressed up slightly with tailored trousers and an oversized linen shirt, or just worn casually with shorts. They run completely true to size for me and offer a wonderfully flexible, lightweight step. Easily my favorite pickup of the season.

The indoor court heritage really shines through on this model. The grip on the gum rubber sole is excellent on city pavements, and the overall silhouette is very flattering on foot. It feels a bit wider in the toe box than other classic models, which is perfect for my foot shape.
