Air Jordan 4 Retro Lakers

An absolute dream colorway for LA fans!
The depth of the imperial purple nubuck on these is insane. Jordan Brand absolutely nailed the golden yellow accents on the heel tab and tongue—it pairs perfectly with a throwback jersey.

Beautiful premium nubuck and incredible presence
I was skeptical about how a purple Jordan 4 would look in person, but the black wings, laces, and midfoot netting balance the brightness out beautifully. The material feels very luxurious to the touch, much softer than standard flat leather releases. The contrast created by the black-and-white split midsole makes the entire shoe pop. They fit completely true to size.

A phenomenal tribute colorway, just prepare for nubuck maintenance
Tinker Hatfield's design language takes to team colorways incredibly well, and this "Imperial Purple" execution is top-tier. Bringing back the proper "Nike Air" branding on the heel counter instead of a standard Jumpman was the right choice—the speckled yellow finish on the logo gives it a really nice, slightly aged character that looks amazing in hand. The visible gold-tinged Max Air unit in the heel adds a wonderful technical detail.

My only practical warning is that because the entire upper is a rich, dark purple nubuck, it is highly sensitive to scuffs and water spots. If you plan on wearing these out to crowded spots or when the weather is unpredictable, you absolutely must apply a high-quality suede and nubuck protector first. Comfort-wise, it provides that classic, secure Jordan 4 locked-in feel, though wide-footers might want to go up a half size. A strong 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Flawless quality control
I managed to secure a pair during the March drop and the craftsmanship is perfect. No stray glue marks along the black mudguard panels, and the stitching is absolutely immaculate.

Incredible style, just give the upper a few days to break in
Visually, this shoe is a masterpiece. The yellow Jumpman Flight tag on the tongue completely anchors the design. Just note that the structured TPU wings and the premium thickness of the nubuck make the upper feel a bit stiff right out of the box. After a few casual walks around town, the material softens up nicely and conforms well to the foot. The underfoot cushioning is exactly what you expect from a solid retro 4.
