Air Jordan 13 Retro Chicago

The remastered True Red color is flawless!
I own the 2017 retro, but Jordan Brand really outdid themselves on this 2026 version. The shade of red suede wrapping the heel and midsole is noticeably more vibrant and true to the original 1998 pair. A mandatory pickup for the collection.

An absolute masterpiece of nostalgic design
Tinker Hatfield's panther-inspired concept is on full display here. The contrast of the stark black hits on the inner lining against the beautifully quilted white leather panels is stunning. Even better, the holographic bubble near the ankle collar has that perfect 3D depth and clarity. It looks brilliant with loose cargo pants or classic black athletic shorts.

A legendary "Last Dance" classic that is actually still playable
Lacing these up brings back so many memories of MJ's final championship run in Chicago. The overall shape of this retro feels a bit sleeker and closer to the original spec than the older re-releases. Functionally, it's amazing how well the Jordan 13 holds up on the court compared to other vintage retros. The hidden dual Zoom Air units (in the heel and forefoot) provide a wonderfully resilient, springy cushion setup.

My only minor warning is regarding the suede. Because the True Red synthetic suede runs all the way down to the edge of the midsole pods, it is very easy to scuff or stain them if you are playing on dusty indoor floors or walking through wet grass. Use a protective spray beforehand. The ankle lockdown from the asymmetrical collar is top-tier and they run completely true to size. 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Elite lockdown, just watch out for midfoot tightness
The paw-shaped outsole pattern grips the floor incredibly well, giving you a very stable base for changing directions. The unique ghillie lacing system pulls the upper tightly around your foot for an absolute zero-slip fit. Just keep in mind that the carbon fiber shank plate under the arch makes the midfoot structure quite rigid out of the box, so they require a couple of casual wears to flex naturally.

This is my absolute favorite Jordan silhouette, and the Chicago colorblocking is arguably its most iconic look. The craftsmanship on this 2026 drop feels highly premium—the tumbled leather on the toe box is remarkably soft, and the embroidered black Jumpman logo on the tongue pops beautifully.

What really makes the 13 stand out is how comfortable the padded interior lining feels against your ankles. There's no chafing, and the podular outsole design distributes your weight evenly, making them an excellent choice for a long day of walking around town. They hold their structured, aggressive shape perfectly over time without creasing poorly across the front. If you want a durable, history-rich sneaker that instantly commands respect in the streetwear scene, this is an outstanding release.
