I missed out on the 2017 drop, so I was thrilled to pick these up during the April 2026 release. The execution is flawless—the patent leather has a high-end mirror shine, and the mesh on the tongue is tightly woven and premium. They look incredibly clean paired with light-wash denim or a fresh pair of gray fleece shorts.

A phenomenal collegiate tribute, just protect the icy soles
The design of the AJ11 Low is legendary for a reason, and dressing it up in Michael Jordan's alma mater colors never fails to satisfy. The contrast of the Carolina blue wrapping around the mudguard against the stark white Phylon midsole creates an beautiful visual break. The carbon fiber shank plate under the arch provides great rigidity and support when walking around all day.

My only minor note is the lifespan of the translucent outsole compound. While it looks absolutely gorgeous right out of the box with its crisp, faint blue hue, these soles are prone to picking up dust stains and discoloring over time if you walk on damp concrete or asphalt. I highly recommend giving them a quick wipe-down after every wear. They fit completely true to size and the internal heel padding locks your ankle down perfectly.

A flawless aesthetic, but keep the stiffer materials in mind
Visually, this is a 10 out of 10. The shape is beautifully streamlined, and the white rope laces hold perfectly tight. Just keep in mind that patent leather does not stretch or give the way standard tumbled leather does, meaning the forefoot feels a bit rigid during your first couple of wears. Give them a few days of casual walking to break in, and the Phylon midsole and full-length Air unit will feel great.

I managed to secure a pair on release day and the quality control on this run is spectacular—no messy glue lines along the patent boundary and the stitching is perfectly symmetrical across both shoes. The mini blue Jumpman embroidered on the heel looks incredibly sharp and premium.

Functionally, it delivers a very secure, wrapped sensation across the midfoot. The mesh and leather panels breathe surprisingly well for an older basketball silhouette, making them a total joy to wear for casual weekend outings. They hold their structured shape beautifully without forming ugly, aggressive creases across the toe box due to the lower cut of the patent mudguard. If you want a durable, historically rich statement piece that instantly elevates an outfit, this is an exceptional release.
