I love the weathered, worn-in aesthetic Nigel brought to the design. The contrast between the blazing orange upper and the vintage sail midsole looks beautifully aged right out of the box. The reflective 3M hits hidden under the mesh panels add a killer high-visibility technical touch that makes sense for riding at night. Fits completely true to size.

A legendary collaboration, just prepare for heavy suede maintenance
This shoe is a pure work of art. Ditching the plastic heel tab for a fully molded leather one stamped with "Bike Air" completely transforms the identity of the AJ4 silhouette. The mini embroidered Swoosh on the lateral forefoot is the perfect signature calling card for a Nigel Sylvester collaboration. The unboxing experience alone—with the custom brick-printed wrap and individualized shoe bags—is worth the price of entry.

My only real warning is that the Firewood Orange suede is incredibly thick and completely un-tumbled, meaning it acts like a giant sponge for dust and grease. If you actually intend to ride a bike in these or walk around crowded city streets, you absolutely must coat them in a heavy-duty water and stain repellant first, or they will darken and smudge permanently on your first day out. Comfort-wise, it has that classic, robust 4 structure that locks your ankle down perfectly. 4.5 out of 5 stars!

The craftsmanship on this 2025 drop is pristine. No messy glue seams where the orange suede meets the sail midsole, and the cinnabar accents pop beautifully under the sun. Easily my favorite pickup in a long time.

Incredible street style, but give the upper some time to break in
Visually, this is a perfect ten out of ten—the cream-toned netting balances the loudness of the orange perfectly. Just be aware that because of the heavy-duty, rugged construction meant to survive bicycle pedal scuffs, the upper is significantly stiffer than a standard retro 4. It took about five full days of casual walking around town for the midfoot to flex smoothly without pinching.
